Alexis Andreou

I was born in Limassol, Cyprus where I began practicing photography. I moved to London in 2015 to study BA Photography at the London College of Communication. My work features experimentation with a wide range of photographic genres, both in analogue and digital photography and a large part is influenced from my experience as a conscripted soldier in the aftermath of a conflicted landscape.

Vortography for Two Fifty One deals with representing how reality can be distorted through the photographic lens and the photographic representation of things. All photographs were taken around central London, where most of skyscrapers and contemporary architecture is located. The Vortographs were created with kaleidoscopic mirror lenses which reflect the construction of the majority of contemporary architecture around London and aim to embellish featured architecture with an abstracted twist of kaleidoscopic reflections.
