Shaun Howes

I was born in Reading, England, I moved to London in 2013 to study photography. In 2017 I graduated from the BA Photography course at the London College of Communication. My practice is based in photography and videography looking at many different social conflicts with an interest in documentary-based work.

For 251, I developed a series of pictures which explore buildings that surround the 251 building. I wanted to show the buildings in an architectural sense as if the photographs appear as paper and that the buildings themselves are etchings onto the city resembling the concept of a “Paper Town”.

(“From a distance… You can’t see the rust or the weeds or the paint cracking. You see the place as someone once imagined it”. – John Green, Author of “Paper Towns”).
