I was born in Cape Town, South Africa but spent the majority of my formative years in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. I worked as a professional muralist prior to becoming more seriously involved with photography. My intent when photographing anything is to provide a strong visual representation of my reaction to the subject at hand.

My intent with the series of images on 251 was to create a portrait of the building. Not necessarily by simply photographing the building itself, but by observing the manner in which it interacted with its surroundings. The images were all made at night, around two or three AM over a few nights, to provide a perspective of the building that most people might not necessarily see.
